What does the phrase "your correspondent" here mean? From The Ecomomist - Television in Germany "Rather than charging top euro for delicious content, pay-TV distributors are trying to hook Germans on technology. They are offering digital video recorders that allow subscribers to pause and rewind live programmes and record an entire series with a single click of the remote control. They are pushing libraries of on-demand films to save people a trip to the video store, and electronic programme guides to make channel-surfing easier. Some are offering a greater range of high-definition channels. Such things are old news in other rich countries. In Germany they seem so radical that Christian Illek of Deutsche Telekom feels the need to show your correspondent how they work." I don't understand the last sentence. What does "your correspondent" here mean? I don't think it means your journalist and the like.... Could someome explain the last sentence for me please? In this context it does mean "your journalist". The person reporting the story used the term to refer to himself/herself. "Correspondent" has a couple different meanings but here it's "journalist/reporter." You mean.. "your" means the ones are reading the article, and correspondent is refer to the writer, it's just like the mom says "Baby~~ Don't be so naughty, your mom's busy right now!" right?

your correspondent = the person writing the article Regarding additional details: Exactly! Your refers to the readers, just like the "your mum" example. "Your correspondent" is a very common phrase and is always used when the journalist refers to himself. It comes from old English, but that's another story.
