Before talking about this topic, I want to share some interesting things with you. In our traditional culture, everyone should respect their teachers in any case and teachers should be strict with their students at school. This is a good way to build a (healthy) relationship between teachers and students, it’s positive. Students can absorb plenty of knowledge from teachers which can help them to be successful. In the meantime, teachers also teach their students how to become a responsible citizen for their country. Teachers not only care for their students’ education, but they also need to know more about their students' personal life. Teachers usually build a good relationship with the students' parents. The teacher helps the students who are going through a tough / rough time. This positive teacher-student relationship makes each student feels like they are being loved which also inspire them to study hard to achieve their academic goals and to be a kind and helpful person. This is one of the reasons why our civilization has been persisting over 5000 years and is still thriving. From the first greatest teacher who was Confucius until now, we believe in a truth: knowledge is power, but the first mission of education is to cultivate kind-hearted people and then learn about knowledge. Finally, I will end this essay with a Chinese idiom / proverb: “don’t treat people the way you don’t want to be treated”.
