I want my students to express themselves as much as possible. The most important for me is to TRY ! I do not care if you make mistakes, and I do not care if you don't understand the first time. Pendant le cours, je te laisserai parler le plus possible, mais je peux intervenir pour corriger des erreurs importantes, et te poser des questions pour continuer la conversation. J'essaie de m'adapter à tes besoins pour que le cours soit utile pour toi. J'utilise souvent les 5 ou 10 dernières minutes du cours pour faire un bilan des erreurs principales que j'ai entendues pendant la conversation et te faire répéter les mots que tu as eu du mal à prononcer.

Learning to Speak, Speaking to Learn Most students I meet on italki look for an online teacher because they want to be able to actually speak French, and not just “learn things about the French language”. My view is that when teaching a language, speaking should always have the highest priority. I know that eventually my students want to learn French to engage in meaningful conversations and enjoy doing it. And I know that for that, they need a pronunciation that people will praise them for, they need to say things the right way (which means using the right grammar and syntax), overall they need to feel confident about their French, and they need a lot of speaking practice.

Professeure depuis 2017 - French for all ages & all levels :) After working as an English teacher in summer language camps in Europe, I decided to move to Vietnam in 2017 to work for a NGO. The NGO's mission was to give young underprivileged adults English as well as French classes in order to help them find better jobs. My love for teaching started there, when I saw that learning a new language can really make a difference in someone's life. I have since been teaching students from all levels and all ages.
