Habari yako[Hey], My name is Caroline Ndegwa from Nairobi, Kenya. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a specialization in procurement. I am a native Swahili and English speaker. I have been teaching English and Swahili for 3 years now. I am looking forward to assist you learn Swahili and English all the way from basic level to advanced level. I love traveling, meeting new people, learning new languages and exploring new cultures. I am very passionate about languages and the journey to learning a new language. This journey requires commitment and effort from the teacher which I gladly offer. This journey also entails optimism and an open mind as a student. I am a enthusiastic, patient, well informed and understanding. My objective is to ensure that you are able to immerse the language you are learning into your day to day by being your or one of your practice partners. My teaching strategy is that during my first lesson, I first conduct an initial discovery session to better understand what my students’ goals or expectation are through my class. Based out of this, we tailor a curriculum that meets the needs of the individual student. My teaching style is direct where both the teacher and the student are fully engaged. This helps the student to build their vocabulary and make English or Swahili sentence structures. We will incorporate grammar, reading, writing and oral conversations which will help you learn the simple rules of English or Swahili that will help you build confidence in speaking the language. Tutor Caroline does a wonderful job of packing the whole lesson with learning, I feel like she manages to condense hours of study into one short lesson. She does a great job of teaching to your level, and so the information is never overwhelming.

I've had two lessons and so far there's only positive things to say. Having been presented with a clear curriculum from day one I've been encouraged to help shape it according to my specific goals and needs. She doesn't linger unnecessarily on topics which I know while still making sure nothing passes without me understanding.
Overall she shows a keen attention to my level of understanding and adapts the curriculum according to my wishes.
