I highly recommend Vasilija - she has been a huge help to me as I've worked to improve my Serbian over the past couple of years. She is super sharp and does an excellent job of encouraging and guiding me through the many challenges of this complex language.

Я впервые начал изучать немецкий язык около года назад. Около шести месяцев я занимался самостоятельно. Потом, как это всегда бывает приходит время когда нужно обратиться к профессору. Выбор Васила был, на бумаге, простым - человек который изучал несколько языков и с которым я мог бы исследовать трудности немецкого языка на русском. Но в конце концов эта оценка на бумаге часто оказывается обманчивой, потому что компетентность сама по себе не делает учителя хорошим учителем. Гораздо более фундаментальным аспектом является другой - создает ли учитель в ученике любопытство, желание заниматься предметом? Васила создает это желание. Сколько раз я обнаруживал себя изучающим темы которые рассматривались в классе в течение дня потому что у меня был несколько вопросов, которые еще вертелись у меня в голове и на которые нужно было ответить. Мне не хочется бросать весь материал по немецкому языку после каждого урока. А это, в конечном счете, является тем что гарантирует успех в изучении языка.

It is always a wonderful experience with Vasila. My lessons are tailored to my needs. When I began with her, I let her know how I would like to approach the lessons and she listened to me. Vasila is easy to understand. She isn’t a native German speaker. That is fine by me. She understands the difficulty of learning another language. There are times when something doesn’t translate as easily into English. She will let me know common and unusual translations. I also get to learn about her culture because there may be differences between German / English / Serbian. That is interesting to me. This is a way to see how the cultures compare to each other. She talks at a comfortable speed for me. We have a time of general talking and a time for the directed lesson. She will send me a list of new words we discussed so I can go back and study those words further. I look forward to each lesson. I know I’ll walk away from each lesson learning more than just words.
