I just had my first trial lesson with Virgile. This was my first French lesson on italki, so I don’t have a direct point of comparison yet. That said, he clearly enjoys teaching and has a strong understanding of second language acquisition. The lesson was well-structured, and he provided thoughtful lesson plans while being flexible in willing to adapt his approach to align with my personal goals, which I really appreciated. I’m still exploring different teaching styles and instructors before making a decision, so I haven’t committed to lessons with him yet. However, if his profile interests you, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try, you’ll likely pick up some history knowledge along the way too :)

I’m happy with my decision! He makes learning French enjoyable, he is patient, and tailors lessons to fit my needs, whether it’s improving my speaking skills, understanding grammar, or learning expressions that native speakers use. Along the way, he also teaches slang words that you actually hear in real-life conversations. He creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which makes it easy to stay motivated and confident while learning. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great French teacher!
