Gizem

It was a great pleasure learning Turkish with Gizem! We've covered 2 levels together (B1 and B2) and I feel my Turkish has improved. Gizem is a very nice, kind and understanding teacher, we often discussed interesting and useful for real life topics. Derslerin için teşekkürler, Gizem! :)

This is my second lesson with Gizem and I am loving it! She is very fun, clear, and patient. I feel like I will be making lots of progress with her.

The class began late and Gizem seemed disheveled that I am Kurdish from Kurdistan Iraq. An ally to Turkey. I speak Kurdish and it is on my account. It was clear the instructor had preconceived ideas of who I am. Until I explained I am not Kurdish from Turkey and have no issues with Turks and Turkey that Gizem opened up. She asked specifically “Do you love Turkey?” If I did not love Turkey I would not want to learn Turkish. The lesson jumped around and was a lot of Gizem reading out of an electronic textbook with me mostly listening. I’m looking for a partner and teacher in learning this language because of my passion for it. She has the most lessons taught in Turkish, but I think I’ll be looking for another teacher.

This is probably the best Turkish lesson I have ever had. I actually understood most of what was said, and Gizem was very understanding and encouraging!
