Hi everyone, nice to meet you! My name is Aya.
I’m here to help you learn Japanese, and I offer lessons on italki.
I usually work for an online marketing company, but I also have experience supporting Japanese classes at a college in Brisbane, Australia. Since I’m studying English myself, I can offer advice on the process of learning a second language. I look forward to helping you with your Japanese journey!
Moi en tant que professeur
Don't be afraid to make mistakes—let's actively practice speaking Japanese in my class!
If needed, I can help you refine your sentences to make them more natural during our lessons. Let's make the most of your valuable time.
I also love traveling, both around Japan and abroad. If you're planning a trip to Japan, I’d be happy to share some advice!
Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
Before your first lesson, I’ll take the time to learn about your Japanese goals, learning background, and what you’d like to practice. Based on this, I’ll create a lesson plan tailored to your needs, ensuring we make the most of your valuable time.
I can adjust the curriculum to suit your requests, so please feel free to let me know in advance.
Examples of goals we can focus on include:
- Learning Japanese from the basics.
- Mastering beautiful Hiragana and Katakana.
- Preparing to speak confidently on your next trip to Japan.
- Learning business Japanese.
If you’re unsure about booking a lesson or have any questions, don’t hesitate to message me anytime! 😊
I had my first italki lesson with Aya先生. Aya先生 was very patient when I was talking Japanese and guided my attempts very constructively. I was provided homework to further work on what we practiced during the lesson which aligned very well with my learning goals. It was overall a very nice experience!

Aya has excellent communication outside the class. She is very patient with me and helps me correct my mistakes with my pronunciation. She gave me feedback, and a plan for review for our next session. As a beginner in Japanese, learning from someone new can be intimidating, but I feel very comfortable working with her after the trial and a first session.

If you want to do exercises, she is very flexible with it so I’m really happy and she corrects me whenever I make a mistake while speaking and would take the notes for me as well😭 a really good and dedicated teacher! 😊 I was also interested with how she makes your homeworks since I have learned English through the same exercises she does— through essays, sample work presentations and whatnot.
