I had my first Spanish lesson with Javi and really enjoyed the experience. We began by getting to know each other and exploring my reasons for learning Spanish. Javi conducted most of the session in Spanish, which was great for immersion, but he also switched to English when needed to make sure I felt supported and could follow along. His teaching style is warm, encouraging and thoughtful. He creates a space where making mistakes feels like part of the learning journey rather than something to be avoided. I particularly appreciated his emphasis on speaking practice and real-world resources—we discussed using articles from El País and El Mundo to boost comprehension, as well as the challenge (and fun!) of watching Spanish films with Spanish subtitles. Javi is not only a supportive teacher, but also an interesting and inspiring person to learn from. I'm looking forward to continuing lessons with him and seeing how my Spanish develops!
