I have experience as a tutor from 2018-2019 at the Language and Culture Services Center at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Since 2020, I've been teaching Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, and English on Italki. After graduating in 2020 with a degree in Indonesian Language and Literature, I published several research papers, which you can find on ResearchGate. Hahaha my first Bahasa Indonesia lesson!
Yacub explained the pronunciation rules and the differences between words (e.g. tidak and bukan) very clearly and patiently. And also from this lesson I learned a bunch of new words and useful expressions.

Mas Yacub has been a wonderful teacher for my 12-year-old son. He found a way to engage his interest with Indonesian comics as well as practicing conversation. He has always been 100% punctual and engaged and willing to accommodate time differences between the US and Indonesia. Highly recommended!

It was very nice to have experienced my first iTalki class to learn Basa Jawa with Yacub! His introduction on his iTalki profile got my attention due to the fact that he lives in Yogyakarta, studied at Gadjah Mada University and loves history and food. His teaching method is also very effective. After the introduction class I immediately planned in 5 classes of 90 minutes ahead.

So I just want to say here that I have been studying with Yacub for over a year and I would say about a year and a half . He is an amazing soul and I am very blessed to know him and have him on my language team . I live in Florida and I really have no use for the Indonesian language where I live . In fact the whole reason that I’m learning Indonesian was kind of an accident , but I fallen in love with the Indonesian language and the Indonesian people and now I’ll be going there next year even more reason to learn. Yacob has been my conversation partner and has been helping me learn he always sends me course materials. He’s just an amazing teacher. I’ve probably had nine or 10 different Indonesian tutors and he stands above them. I have always felt like he’s been invested in my learning. Thank you !
