¡Hola! ¡Mucho gusto! Mi nombre es Melissa, soy de México. Do you know a little bit of spanish? Would you like to get better with practice? Or do you want to start learning? I can help you! I am willing to share part of my culture while guiding you through the process of learning how to speak one of the most spoken languages in the world. For work, school, traveling, comunicating with friends or family, our lessons can be adapted to fit your goals and meet your needs. I love learning as well, and I know learning a new language can be difficult and sometimes scary - but it doesn't have to be. You'll be surprised how easier it gets when you enjoy the process. As a tutor, I am interested in being warm and friendly, so the student can feel comfortable practicing and expressing their thoughts and ideas in Spanish, talking about their interests and likes. I believe is important to develop the conversational hability but also enforcing the knowledge of the language, such as grammar. I consider myself a patient and understanding person, and I think those qualities are essential in teaching. The person who is learning shouldn't feel judged or pressured, but rather encouraged and motivated. My classes are sessions of conversation in which we approach an specific topic, check vocabulary and practice it, but we do this in an easy and comfortable way. Melissa has been my patient guide along this journey, especially with my lateness. Due to time zones, I'm rolling out of bed and racing to finish a coffee before the lesson starts.
I lost motivation for everything for a while, when my personal life was falling apart. Melissa was compassionate and understanding, helping me find motivation and rediscover my passion for language learning. The return to Spanish class was a good step toward some semblance of normalcy.

This 2 year Spanish journey has not just been about my growth as a student but about Melissa's growth as a teacher. I have witnessed her go from a Community tutor to a Professional teacher while refining her skills to become the amazing teacher she is today.

Melissa has been an amazing teacher. She is very prepared for each class and continues to focus in on my greatest needs. She has helped me tremendously with the subjunctive, conditional, imperative, etc. Her explanations are concise and really hit home. I truly believe that I am improving with each class. I highly recommend her!!!
