Hello everyone! My name is Jacob. I'm 35 years old from the Netherlands, and most of my time live in Rotterdam. I wasn't born and raised there, but in Zeeland. Which means that my accent is almost non-existent and just regular Dutch.
In my past time I love to go bouldering, hiking and do rock climbing. This last one brought me to China, after which I decided to study Chinese. And got until about HSK3 until now. In my daily life I'm an IT manager, but I also do lots of freelance movie work and film documentaries. love traveling, multiple months per year, mostly Asia. I've been teaching all kinds of things (sailing, Microsoft certifications, and Chinese) and love to help people learn.Moi en tant que professeur
Because my of my studies in NLP and a bachelor in Social Work I have learned very well to listen to people, let them set attainable goals for themselves and make a plan to reach those. I accept that there;s multiple learning styles and only use those which are effective to people. I'm very patient, kind, but can also be strict when necessary. Because sometimes you just need a little nudge in the right direction. I will use lots of humor in my classes, am accustomed to working with children as well, and am able to motivate you to continue even when things look tough.Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
I will offer different kinds of classes. I can help you learn vocabulary, give tools to help learn vocabulary, as well and make small stories to make sure you remember this vocabulary. This has always worked will for me, since I'm a visual learning. Learning by repetition is key in this.
I can also give more structured Classes focussing on sentence learning, in normal day-to-day dutch, so not just lesson book dutch. You want to speak like a native, not like a book.
I can also teach business and movie related classes. how to use speech in dutch corporations, the ethics there and how to talk.
I can teach children, having taught Chinese to children before.
