Ann gives well structured lessons suitable for my level of German. We are working through some texts at the moment, which introduce me to new vocabulary and help improve my grammar. Ann's lessons are enjoyable and make learning German fun.

I cannot recommend Ann D. highly enough! Every lesson is thoughtfully prepared, engaging, fun, and productive. I like that the lesson time can be very structured or very relaxed depending on the learning goal, and I appreciate how flexible Ann always is when it comes to impromptu changes for whatever material we are working on. I have never been bored with a lesson and always feel like I have my own world-class private tutor. Ann is extremely supportive and patient, and her devotion to teaching the language is evident from the very first lesson, and never diminishes. (I've done over 100 lessons with her, so I know!) Ann is an absolute force that you'll want on your side as you are learning German.

Ann D ist eine großartige Lehrkraft – das habe ich schon nach der ersten 30-minütigen Unterrichtsstunde gemerkt. Bisher hatte ich immer das Gefühl, überhaupt kein Englisch zu können, doch sie hat mich ermutigt und mir gezeigt, dass ich eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht bin. Ich muss es einfach häufiger anwenden und mehr Routine entwickeln. Mit ihrer Unterstützung werde ich genau daran arbeiten.

Ann is always well prepared for my lessons with her. She uses written materials that she sends beforehand and gives me homework, which we go through during the lesson before moving on to the new material. We usually have a chat about what I have been doing recently, which gives me a chance to both speak and listen. Things that I say incorrectly, she types up correctly in the chat so that I can refer back to the correct way something should be said. I have usually forgotten to decline the adjective, mixed up my genders, jumbled up the word order or generally broken some grammar rule and sometimes all at once! I am making progress and Ann is very patient, explaining clearly where I have strayed from the straight and narrow path of German language perfection! I would definitely recommend having lessons with Ann.
