My name is Fred Kuhr 🏳️🌈, and I'm a dual U.S./Canada citizen 🇨🇦🇺🇸originally from New York City 🌉, now living in Toronto, Canada. I'm a former high school English teacher as well as an award-winning actor and filmmaker. My interests include current events, pop culture, movies, music and physical fitness. In fact, I'm a certified personal trainer and have been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years.Moi en tant que professeur
As a former high school English teacher, I know that you have to meet students where they are and use materials that interest them in order to reach them. I also know that different students learn differently; that is, some respond better to listening while others are better with seeing information. So I like to tailor lessons to individual students depending on what methods will work best and keep students motivated.Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
My teaching style is upbeat and energetic, injected with humor. I know that if I'm bored, the student will be too. So I can't be boring. Language learning should be fun anyway, since learning a language also unlocks a new culture. I like to use materials that are already out there in the culture - whether that's children's books, magazines, newspapers, movies or music - to showcase culture along with language.
