Minji Kim

I just completed my 13th lesson with Teacher Minji today. I started lessons with her since October last year and I feel that I am improving. Teacher Minji is very patient and she does not mind repeating her explanations. Her teaching materials are good and we practiced/review a lot. This helps to understand the grammar better and retain the words longer. Before starting on the lesson proper, Teacher Minji always have small talks which enables me to practice my speaking. It has been fun and enjoyable. Thank you Teacher Minji!

I have been taking classes with Minji 선생님 for over a year now and she is an amazing teacher. In the past year I’ve seen a huge improvement in both my Korean comprehension and speaking skills. Minji 선생님 is always encouraging and creates a safe space to ask questions and learn from mistakes. She also always believes in me and continually finds new ways to challenge me to grow. I started by taking regular lessons and eventually switched to TOPIK 2 preparation earlier this year. Minji 선생님 helped me set some goals and figured out a plan to get to my desired level. I was initially intimidated by exam prep, but Minji 선생님 always made classes fun and I grew to like them more than our regular lessons (which were also fun!) I highly recommend Minji 선생님 to anyone looking to improve their Korean. She is very kind and caring to her students and I look forward to many more classes with her!

I had a good first lesson with Minji! She had an organized lesson plan, and sent me a proper assignment sheet to work on until next time.

My favorite thing about Minji 씨 is that she stops bad habits in their tracks even if the lesson isn’t focused on it! For example, today we reviewed 에서, 에, and past tense verbs. I had to answer something saying “my dad”, which I naturally said *제 아빠가“. She let me answer but then corrected me saying we don’t use *제* in this situatuon and she also explained why. Not only that she also taught me what words we don’t use 제 for and what to use instead. It’s so helpful because it answered any future question I had on that even though that wasn’t the focus of the lesson! Same with pronunciation. She’s always quick to make sure I’m pronouncing things right!

Thought I would write an updated review since my last one is from 2023. I’ve been taking classes with Minji 선생님 for over 2 years and I’ve accomplished so much thanks to her. My speaking, listening, and comprehension have improved immensely and I also took the TOPIK exam got Level 6! Since then, Minji 선생님 tailored classes to match my personal goals. We’ve landed on a combo of grammar practice, speaking class, and writing assignments. It sounds standard, but I have way too much fun in classes to ever be bored. Lastly, Minji 선생님 never ceases to amaze me with her dedication to her students. I’ve seen her put in extra time and care to help students learn. She goes the extra mile to ensure students don’t form bad habits and instead form a solid foundation of the basics. I always recommend her to my friends looking for Korean classes. If my 200+ lesson count with her isn’t a testament to how much I love classes with her, then I don’t know what is.

So happy that Minji is super patient. I haven't studied in a while and was definitely coming to the lesson rusty. Thankfully Minji let me think through some things and helped when needed, without getting angry. Such a reassuring thing when you're learning a language!
