I have had 17 one hour lessons in Yuki's Journal Exchange program and would highly recommend this program to anyone who is serious about studying Japanese with the goal of increasing their conversational ability. Yuki offers this excellent journal program (as well as others), provides guidance and direction according to her student's language level and learning preferences, and is technically competent to facilitate home learning. Personally I have found her to be a friendly, engaging teacher showing genuine interest in my journal topics. I would highly recommend Yuki.

Yuki is a skilled tutor who explains grammar points, new vocabulary, and cultural references clearly and with examples. I have had about 10 lessons with her so far and I look forward to each one. I was looking for help with my weak speaking skills (I'm at about N3 level), and in just a few lessons I was speaking better than I ever had before because of how patient she is when I need to stop & think. We alternate between "Exchange Journals" and "Japanese for all levels (with materials)" reading the manga Skip & Loafer/スキップとローファー. I would highly recommend taking either of these lessons as they developed my speaking & writing skills much faster than self-study.

I have taken 80+ lessons with Yuki sensei since last year and was able to improve my Japanese level significantly. She is very professional and informative when I have language related questions (grammar, vocab etc.) At the same time, she is also extremely helpful when it comes to culture related questions. Through our journal exchanges I got to understand many cultural aspects that I was not aware of before, even though I have been living in Japan for quite some time. It is truly a pleasure to have her as my teacher and I would recommend her for anyone who is serious about learning Japanese. 先生のお陰様で、日本語で文章を書くことに自信を持つようになりました。交換日記により、様々なトピックについて討論できますので、会話の能力もより一層流暢になった気がします。今までアートや教育や日本の文化など幅広い分野での話ができて、いろいろな知識を身につけた上に、一緒に過ごした時間も本当に楽しかったです。沢山教えて頂き、誠にありがとうございました。

I've now completed about ten lessons with Yuki and am learning so much from her. I find her format of using journal entries to be quite effective at helping me learn and retain vocabulary and grammar points. And talking about my journal entries during our lessons is a worthwhile way to practice speaking as well. She is well-prepared, kind, and engaging - I highly recommend!

we had an awesome conversation! My goal was solely to practice talking and she was very good at helping me when needed and even helped me with things i was struggle with! Will be calling again 5 stars
