Koji

I highly recommend Koji-sensei! I've had three lessons with him so far. He's very easy to talk to and is great at preparing interesting topics and adapting to the student's level. We generally start with 15 minutes or so of free talk and then move into a more structured conversation. We've discussed a variety of fun topics including basketball and differences between Japanese and American etiquette. He is supportive and encourages you to talk through mistakes. Koji先生、ありがとうございます！

Just had another great lesson with Koji-sensei! We talked a little bit about sports, Chinese New Year, and also the differences between manners in the US and in Japan. I really enjoy Koji's teaching style of having one grounding topic to shape the lesson around - having a little bit of structure really allows the conversation to flow, and I learn new words in the process! Koji-sensei has been fantastic! His casual style of teaching makes lessons feel very relaxing and help me build confidence in developing my conversational skills. Every lesson feels fresh, and he does a great job making them feel like natural dialogues while also providing clear instruction on improving vocabulary and grammar. He also includes all the notes from the lesson in a structured doc which makes it convenient to refer back to and review later on. I'm looking forward to continuing to take these lessons!

First lesson was GREAT! I already feel like I learned more than in 6 months on duolingo. I felt super comfortable asking questions and already can't wait for more lessons!

Had very accessible conversation practice and went over common phrases! Was very easy going but still made corrections to my speech that was highly appreciated
