Why does it look like teachers don't make any mistakes? Here are some funny stories about me making mistakes as a teacher. And successfully covering them up (did I, though?). With my co-host running away I am left alone to reminisce about my ridiculous attempts to be a free-of-mistakes teacher. Enjoy :)!

For a long time you had found your only entertainment in the quiet pleasure of looking at the sunset.

I learned that new detail on the morning of the fourth day,

when you said to me: "I am very fond of sunsets. Come, let us go look at a sunset now."
“可是得等着…，”我说，“等什么？”
"But we must wait," I said. "Wait? For what?"
等太阳落山。

For the sunset. We must wait until it is time.

At first you seemed to be very much surprised.

Just so. Everybody knows that when it is noon in the United States the sun is setting over France.
只要在一分钟内赶到法国就可看到日落。
If you could try to France in one minute, you could go straight into the sunset, right from noon.
可惜法国是那么的遥远。
Unfortunately, France is too far away for that.
而在你那样的小行星上，你只要把你的椅子挪动几步就行了。
But on your tiny planet, my little prince, all you need do is move your chair a few steps.

You can see the day end and the twilight falling whenever you like...

Hello, this is episode 10 of season 2 of my podcast. 今日は大阪マラソンの日でした。家の近くの道路はマラソンのコースになっていたので、たくさん警備員がいました。マラソンを走っていたのは半分ぐらい女性でした。調べたら、参加者の24%ぐらいが女性だそうです。また、外国人の参加者が増えているようです。今年は9回目の大会だそうですが、1回目に比べると約10倍に増えています。外国人で一番多いのは香港の人です。香港は「香港国際マラソン」の開催地です。約7万人が参加するそうです。だから香港にはマラソンをする人が多いのかもしれません。
Today was the day of the Osaka Marathon. The road near my house was the course of the marathon, so there were many security guards. Half of the people running the marathon were women. I found out that about 24% of the participants were women. Also, the number of foreign participants seems to be increasing. This year is the ninth marathon, and compared to the first one, the number of foreign participants has increased by about ten times. The largest number of foreigners are from Hong Kong. Hong Kong is the host of the Hong Kong International Marathon. Around 70,000 people take part in this event. Maybe that is why there are so many marathon runners in Hong Kong.
最近は体調を崩していたので、少し気分が落ち込んでいました。でも、いいことを発見しました。昨日の午後、久しぶりに美容院に行きました。そこでシャンプーがとてもいい香りに感じました。不思議に思ったので、美容院で同じ香りのヘアオイルを買って帰りました。このオイルはオーガニックで、たくさんのハーブが使われています。この香りを嗅いでいると、とても気分が落ち着きます。調べたら、アロマセラピーには心理学的効果だけではなく、医学的効果も認められているんですね。

Japanese daily life podcast のAtsushiです。
このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

今日は4/28です。
この時期になるとほとんどの地域では桜は散っていますが、北海道はこれからが桜のシーズンです。

今は北海道の1番南にある函館が満開のようです。
満開は桜のシーズンだけ使う言葉です。
満開は100%咲いている、ということですね。
それ以外には、
開花ー咲きはじめ
三分咲きー30%ぐらい
五分咲きー50%ぐらい
七分咲きー70％ぐらい
があります。

北海道の他の地域はまだ三分咲きとか、五分咲きのところが多いと思います。

昨日、天気も良く、奥さんも休みだったので、桜を見に行きました。今年必ず行きたいと思っていた場所に行きました。


北海道の日高、というところにある桜を見に行きました。
ここは観光で行くにはちょっと大変です。ですが、今まで見た桜並木の中で1番長かったです。ずっと桜の木がありました。

日本一の桜並木だそうです。約2,200本の桜が直線７kmに渡って咲くようです。昔、ここに皇族の牧場、みたいなものがあって、その皇族の人たちが通る道路としてつくられた道だそうです。
　それで、そこに1916（大正５）年から３年かけてたくさんの桜をうえました。この道幅がちょうど二十間（約36m）あったので、二十間道路と呼ばれるようになったそうです。


本当にずっとまっすぐの道で、その横に桜がずっと並んで植えられているんですね。この景色は見たことがなくて、本当に良い景色でした。

桜はまだ五分咲きぐらいだったんですが、ゴールデンウィーク前で天気が良い時に行かないと見れないと思っていたので、昨日行ってきました。

桜だけじゃなくて、周りの景色も広々として遠くには山も見えて、きれいでした。北海道ならではの景色だったので、見に行くことができて、本当に良かったです。

他にも桜を見れる場所があります。

#250 北海道のさくらについて！

こんばんは、atsushiです。
今回も和食の文化について話をします。

日本には四季があります。
春、夏、秋、冬。
季節ごとに気温や気候が違うように、旬の食べ物も変わります。

今回は季節ごとの旬な食べ物の話をします。

まずは春からです。
僕は春といえば、たけのこを思い出します。
かといって、家でたくさん食べていたわけでは無いんですが、たけのこのイメージがあります。

他には貝類だとアサリですね、魚だと鯛とかニシンですらね。山菜だとあんまり食べないんですけど、ふきのとうとかですかね。あとは菜の花とかイチゴとかですね。

次は夏です。
夏といえば、僕はそうめんですね。実家にいた時によくそうめんを食べてました。一般的には、魚だとあじとかアナゴとかですね。カツオなどもます。野菜は枝豆、きゅうり、茄子とかですかね。果物だとやっぱりスイカですかね。日本の夏の果物はスイカってイメージは結構ありますね。

秋ですね。秋は食材が豊富になる時期なので、日本では良く、食欲の秋とか言いますね。
僕は秋といえば、梨とかさんまですね。鮭もそうですね。
一般的には、蓮根とか椎茸、しめじ、果物が多いですねぇ。栗とか柿とかぶどうですね。サツマイモとかもそうです。

最後に冬です。
冬は食材と言うよりも、なべのイメージがありますけど、かぼちゃとかですかね。
一般的には貝類の牡蠣とか魚だとタラとかふぐとかカニですね。野菜がと、大根とか白菜とかネギとかですかね。

今回は食材の話ばっかりしたんですけど、
もちろん旬の料理もありますので、その話はまた今度にしようと思います。
