EPISODE 4 (on the cusp of getting the C2)

안녕하세요. 
오늘은 추운 날씨를 한국어로 말하는 방법을 공부할 거예요. 

먼저(first of all), 날씨가 추워요. 날씨가 추울 때, 추운 날씨라고 해요. 
‘차갑다-차가운 날씨’ 말하지 않아요. ‘차갑다’는 ‘차가운 물’을 말할 때 같이 사용해요. 
‘추운 물’ 말하지 않아요. ‘춥다’는 날씨하고 같이 말해요. 

날씨를 말할 때는 ‘날씨가 춥다’, ‘추운 날씨’ 말해요. 

제가 살고 있는 곳은 날씨가 아주 추워요.
지금 -15°예요. 기온(temperature)을 말할 때 − 한국어로 ‘영하’라고 말해요. 그리고 ° 한국어로 ‘도’라고 말해요. 그래서  -15° 한국어로 영하 십오 도예요. 

여려분이 살고 있는 곳은 기온이 몇 도예요? 추워요? 안 추워요?

저는 요즘 너무 추워서 집에만 있어요.
특히 차가운 바람 때문에 귀가 너무 시려워요 (a.시리다).

겨울에 추운 날씨 때문에 귀, 코, 손, 발이 너무 춥고 아주 조금 아플 때  
‘시리다-시려워요’ 한국 사람들이 말해요.
귀가 시려워요. 
코가 시려워요.
손이 시려워요.
발이 시려워요.
또 사람들이 많이 추울 때 이렇게 말해요.

손이 꽁꽁 얼었어.
발이 꽁꽁 얼었어.
와~ 얼어 죽겠어~
와~ 너무 추워서 얼어 죽을 것 같아~

‘v.얼다’를 이렇게 자주 말해요. 
‘adv.꽁꽁’을 ‘얼다’하고 같이 말해요. 아주, 단단하게, 많이 얼었을 때 사용해요. 

제가 사는 곳은 너무 추워서 요즘 밖에 나가면 정말 얼어 죽을 것 같아요.
여러분이 사는 곳은 어때요?
밖에 나가면 귀가 시려워요?
10분만 밖에 있어도 손이 꽁꽁 얼 만큼 추워요?

한국어를 공부하는 여러분 모두 날씨는 춥지만 따뜻한 겨울을 보내기를 바랍니다.

추운 날씨_When it's cold

It was dark, cold and wet. A strong gust of wind was carrying rain in through a broken window. Lightening had struck the window, which exploded and sent shattered glass all over the floor and desk.

Rain was pooling on Superman’s keyboard and he felt drops seeping into his deeper electronics. Severely uncomfortable electric shocks rushed through his body. Wires leading to his CPU had short circuited, preventing any serious damage. 

In response to the short circuit, Superman’s alarm system roared like a lion. It was a built-in feature which informed the user that internal damage had been done. 

“Superman!” cried his owner, who was sitting up in his bed, frightened by the lightning strike. The young man jumped up and ran over to the shattered glass to shield his laptop from the wind and rain. In such an emergency situation, the first thing the owner did was to turn off Superman’s power. He then closed the lid and covered Superman in some clothes so he could attend to the glass and broken window. 

That’s it! I’m done for! I’m dead! Goodbye my sweet owner, my sweet 
simulations! I’ll never again simulate the movement of microwaves through 
circuits and electrical components. My life’s work, my life’s passion, gone… 
Goodbye world… 

And with those final thoughts, Superman powered down into unconsciousness

おしまいまでひいてしまうと狸の子はしばらく首をまげて考えました。
それからやっと考えついたというようにいいました。
 「ゴーシュさんはこの二番目の糸をひくときは きたいに遅おくれるねえ。
    なんだか ぼくがつまずくようになるよ。」
ゴーシュは はっとしました。たしかにその糸は どんなに手早く弾いても 
すこしたってからでないと音が出ないような気が ゆうべからしていたのでした。
 「いや、そうかもしれない。このセロは悪いんだよ。」
とゴーシュはかなしそうにいいました。
すると狸は気の毒そうにして またしばらく考えていましたが
 「どこが悪いんだろうなあ。では もう一ぺん弾いてくれますか。」
 「いいとも弾くよ。」
ゴーシュは はじめました。
狸の子はさっきのように とんとん叩きながら 時々頭をまげて セロに耳をつけるようにしました。
そしておしまいまで来たときは 今夜もまた東がぼうと明るくなっていました。
 「ああ夜が明けたぞ。どうもありがとう。」
狸の子は大へんあわてて 譜や棒きれをせなかへしょって ゴムテープでぱちんと とめて
おじぎを二つ三つすると 急いで外へ出て行ってしまいました。
ゴーシュはぼんやりして しばらくゆうべのこわれたガラスから はいってくる風を吸っていましたが、
町へ出て行くまでねむって 元気をとり戻もどそうと 急いで ねどこへもぐりこみました。
