We Filipinos usually say, "Hindi pa kailanman naging ganito ka-exciting (o kapanapanabik) ang pag-aaral ng Tagalog." "Kilig" is reserved only for "romantic" excitement, like 'when you see your crush and you feel some excitement, joy, euphoria, giddiness, etc. It has no direct translation in English.
