The mean reason why people get promoted is that they proved that they have a complete domain of the previous role. This is very interesting because the most people after reaching the best version in their actual work, are changed in their positions. Is like you will never get the best performance in something.

people after reaching their best level in their actual work, are changed
position. It is like you will never achieve your best performance in something.
Instead of "very interesting" you could use curious/ odd/ strange
Instead of "like" you could use 'as though'/ 'as if'...
