When do you use clockwise / counterclockwise / anti clockwise in a daily conversation? Could you give me some example sentences when these words might come in handy? E.g twist the bottle cap counterclockwise to open it

Certainly! The terms "clockwise," "counterclockwise," and "anticlockwise" are used to describe the direction of rotation or movement. Here are some example sentences where these terms might come in handy: "Turn the dial clockwise to increase the volume of the radio." "To tighten the screw, rotate it clockwise." "The arrow on the map points counterclockwise, indicating the direction of the hiking trail." "Rotate the knob counterclockwise to decrease the temperature." "When assembling the furniture, twist the bolts clockwise to secure the pieces together." "To adjust the time on the clock, turn the hands counterclockwise." "For the ceiling fan to operate in the opposite direction, switch it to the 'anticlockwise' setting." "To open the jar, twist the lid counterclockwise." "The windmill's blades spin in a clockwise direction." "When tightening the jar lid, turn it in a clockwise motion." In British English, it is usual to say "anticlockwise" instead of "counterclockwise." In everyday speech, it is common to use the phrases "to the left" and "to the right" to mean "counterclockwise" and "clockwise." "The lug nuts have a reverse thread, turn them to the right to loosen them."

Clockwise and counterclockwise are used to describe circular movements. It's not really the kind of thing that usually comes up in daily conversation unless you're a plumber, mechanic, carpenter, etc. And I've never heard anyone use anti-clockwise. Turn the knob clockwise to open the door. You tighten most screws and bolts with a clockwise movement. In some parts of the US, there are traffic circles where cars travel in a counterclockwise direction. In the UK, they're called roundabouts and the traffic moves around them in a clockwise direction.
