Technology is helpful in everything in general especially if you are someone disabled living quite far from some big cities like I am. Thanks to the technology I've got an access to the things which normally are not accessible for me. :-)

Language is a bridge or tool they use while they communicate with each other and the more they speak and listen, the more they understand and learn. Through this, their language development comes naturally.

Interesting question. Actually I had a class tonight learning a minority language. Some interesting things happened that made me think about this question. I remember the teacher commenting that I sound so much like how people speak in her village. But what it made me think is the influence other languages and accents have on their dialect. People go and study in another province, city, or they work there. People come from outside to the village and teach or visit. I speak with the accent of my early teachers. I quickly realized my teacher was changing the pronunciation to make it easier for me because of the way I speak and how they hear these same words spoken in the village by some people with a similar accent. I really appreciated hearing the correct way to pronounce them but also realized that I was rather limited by the accent I had already been speaking with.. I think it is more the communication with speakers of other languages, different accents, and dialects that really acts as a catalyst for change. And of course, technology is also involved. I think this evolution of language is inevitable. Although my teacher speaks one way at home, and little different when away from home or even just talking with outsiders, I felt like I had a little insight how communication and technology can have an I impact on a dialect spoken in a rural area.

La tecnologia oggi è diventata così importante da pensarla indispensabile. È in parte così, in quanto dobbiamo sempre ricordarci di trovarci un equilibrio. L'utilizzo di social media per esempio, ci dà l'illusione di essere più vicini ai nostri amici, ma a volte, sostituisce il contatto, l'incontro, la chiacchierata faccia a faccia anche quando sarebbe possibile averla. Quest'ultimo, a mio parere, è un aspetto a cui fare attenzione. Niente può e deve sostituire il vero contatto umano. Detto ciò, un grosso vantaggio dell'utilizzo della tecnologia è sicuramente la conoscenza e il potenziale della stessa che sta a nostra disposizione a distanza di un click. Tra questi, imparare una nuova lingua. Il materiale che sta a nostra disposizione per farlo è impagabile. Abbiamo podcast, video, vocabolario e ogni tipo di app o strumento di esercizio. Tutti mezzi utili, ma che vanno messi alla prova con la pratica della lingua, che oggi possiamo fare comodamente a casa nostra. Niente più scuse: "non ho soldi per viaggiare", "il lavoro non mi permette di andare in vacanza" etc... Oggi, in qualsiasi momento lo vogliamo, possiamo decidere di fare pratica e incontrare una persona dall'altra parte del mondo, che ci può aiutare grazie alla sua professionalità ad imparare una nuova lingua, a praticarla, a conoscere una nuova cultura, a programmare il nostro prossimo viaggio. Che meravigliosa opportunità! Sono grata per aver incontrato un giorno, attraverso un video, Italki. Tramite Italki mi sono potuta preparare ad un esame di lingua inglese. Poi, chi lo avrebbe pensato?
