I have a question about the word: HESITANT. This is a person who can't make a quick decision, right? Is this word often used in English? Thanks in advance for the answer!

Hi Kate. It is a commonly used word but to my mind it's used in a different context. I would use hesitant in the following way: ⭐️At first I was hesistant to adopt a dog as it's a big responsibility; however, I'm so glad I did because it's made my life so much richer. ⭐️Doctors are often hesistant to prescribe antibiotics as it could lead to increased microbial resistance. ❗️Here the meaning of hesistant would be: unsure, uncertain or unwilling. I think a word that would better fit what you are describing would be: indecisive. ⭐️Going for a meal with Adam is always a nightmare! He is so indecisive and takes ages to pick something from the menu. ⭐️My wife is so indecisive that planning our next holiday destination usually takes a few weeks.

Like Adam said, I'd go with indecisive. It's more analogous to нерешительный, если это то, что вы искали.

"Hesitation" has no essential connection to decision making. I am hesitant to eat raw fish, but I'm not slow to make any decision about it. It took me no time at all to make that decision. I'm never going to eat it. I will be forever hesitant to eat raw fish!

It's fairly common. Perhaps because there are so many people out there who are hesitant!
