Beh, che ne dite dei pronomi combinati:

"glieli, glielo, gliela, gliene"

e degli stessi con l'elisione:

"gliel'ho, gliel'hai, gliel'hanno..." in frasi del tipo "gliel'ho detto!", "gliene ho parlato proprio ieri..."

?

...penso che per un parlante non nativo sia veramente arduo.

Good question.:) In my view, difficult points depend a lot on the learners' native language, the foreign languages they already speak and some individual things which can hardly be predicted. Eventually you get used to any things with practice, still to me the major grammar difficulties in Italian are:

- the use of the particles "ci" e "ne" (not in every case, but in less obvious ones)

- the use of prepositions generally

- the use of articles (in particular the cases where you need to decide whether the article should be used or omitted, including the partitive article)

Another stumbling point is the use of Italian pronouns (form and position) and the agreement between the past participle and the pronoun replacing the direct object (e.g. "li ho mostrati").

This is from my own experience as a learner and that of my students.
