Anyone who's into the Bavarian dialect?
Hi all,
I came across a sentence written by a Bavarian poet which goes like "Die Bayern siechi am libbstn vo hintn". I have no clue about its meaning, and there's no context to show. Anyone out there who can help me understand it?

Thank you in advance!

What JM7 said :)

I like to see Bavarians best from behind, i.e. as they're leaving. =}

Can't quite understand why anyone would say such a thing, though. ;)

Hi - literaly: I like it best to see Bavarians from the back. Most likely a bloomy way to say i don`t like them = I like it best when they leave (so you see them from the back). . .

Hi Miriam, thank you for the well-detailed explanation! The sentence is attributed to Helmut Haberkamm. Googling the name you found out he actually comes from a village 40 km away from Nuremberg, so my mistake: I assumed he wrote in Bavarian dialect.

JM7's and človek's translations are correct. I'd like to add some context. This is most probably not a Bavarian but a Franconian. It's a completely normal Franconian sentence. As the Nuremberg dialect is a bridge between Franconian and Bavarian, it has similarities with both dialects. The person who said that is very likely a fan of the Nuremberg football Club and, of course, hates the FC Bayern Munich. When you google the whole sentence, you receive links to the website of the FC Bayern Munich. Nuremberg is located in Middle Franconia which is part of the federal state of Bavaria. So, for outsiders, it's easy to assume that the author of this sentence is Bavarian but then the sentence wouldn't make any sense. Silvia, do you happen to know the name of the author?
