I’m really happy to know that you are coming to my town next month. I’ll ("I'd" in the USA. I don't know how the Brits say it. I presume that they also use "I'd" in this sentence structure...) be glad to help you with your doubts and questions, and at the same time I’m going to give you the best advice I can.
Knowing that your course takes place mainly in the mornings and that you don’t have any class on weekends, you'll be able to do a lot of activities which are so popular in my town, as you're going to see in the next paragraphs.
Firstly, one of the most interesting activities that you could do in this place is going to go to the marvelous cinema that is situated near the college where you are headed. Enjoying that kind of building, with its huge screens and cheap prices, is something that you shouldn’t avoid if you want to do something indoors.
Secondly, talking about outdoor activities, you'll be able to find a lot of types of sports that are easily playable, even if you are not a good at it, such as basketball or tennis. People that play these sports in my town just do them (or, "just play them") that to spend their time without looking for a challenge. They just want to laugh and talk with everybody, and for that reason I’m totally sure that you'll love it.
Other activities such as going to the historical cathedral, going for a walk through the superb city park or just drinking something in one of the pubs of the beautiful city centre, are worth it if you want to have different options to have an enjoyable time.
