Use of NAMAN
I understand that "NAMAN" is used in speech to soften a term or statement or to add emphasis.. But in many articles I see NAMA used. My dictionary says that NAMA can mean "also", "too", "really". So, in the following sentences, what does NAMAN mean:
Tuloy na naman ang kurakutan.
Sasabihin ko sa kanya na kami ay mabuti naman dito sa Pilipinas.
Idinipensa naman siya ni House Speaker Sonny Belmonte.

1.)Maganda nga siya pero tamad naman. She's really beautiful but on the other hand she's lazy. The naman is being used for contrast.

2)Softens Requests. Basically, if you give a command and you don't want to sound harsh you add naman.

Pakiusap umalis ka naman.* 
Please leave now.

3)Emphasis. Emphasis is emphasis and sometimes can be agreement.

Aba! Mataba siyang diyan.*
Di, chunky lang naman.*
(Linapit niya)*
Oo naman! Pinakamataba naman niya!*
Kailangan ko ng new glasses!*

Wow, that person over there is fat.
No, Just chunky.

I probrably could've used a naman on the last one for emphasis.

Naman in its simplest form can be understood also as "again", "also", "too or so", "really"
Na naman? = Again?
Naman? = Really
Siya naman ay makikinabang - She will also benefit.
Ang tanga naman. = Too stupid. or So stupid.

the adverb 'naman' in your sentences implies different meaning:

Tuloy na naman ang kurakutan. (corruption continues AGAIN).
 
Sasabihin ko sa kanya na kami ay mabuti naman dito sa Pilipinas. (I'll tell him/her that we're doing fine here in the Philippines SO FAR).

Idinipensa naman siya ni House Speaker Sonny Belmonte. (he was defended by Speaker Sony Belmonte).  Here, 'naman' really has a subtle definition yet doesn't have a major effect when translated in english.  It's there to confirm something has acted upon or happened.  This kind of sentence need to have a premise in order to understand how 'naman' is used:

'ang nasasakdal ay naghahanap ng katarungan at idinipensa naman siya ni House Speaker Sonny Belmonte. (the accused asked for justice and FINALLY was defended by Speaker Sony Belmonte).

There's really no specific meaning for the word 'naman'. It depends on how you use it. Here are examples:

Hindi naman - Not really; None Actually

Na naman - Again

Oo naman - Of course; Oh yes

Wala naman - None really; None actually
