What does " remain committed" mean ? Is it formal expression in English writting ? I got this sentence from an article. " We remain committed to finding a solution to the this problem...." I guess " remain committed" here means " still insist " , am I right ? Is it formal way to use " remain committed" ? Do you use this phrase often in writting or daily conversation ? Please comment. I try to make my own sentence by using this phrase. Please correct if it is wrong. I remain committed to finishing this work no matter how difficult it is. Please comment and correct. Thank you in advance.

Your analysis and wording are quite correct. The phrasing is rather formal, so it would likely appear in writing much more often than in ordinary speech.

Yes you are right when you say "I remain committed to finishing this work no matter how difficult it is" It just means that you are keeping on working on something and not going to give up. Remain committed is used a lot by politicians when answering questions from journalists when they havent found a solution to ta problem. It is not used much in conversational english.
