Wow, there are LOTS of meanings to the phrase 'go down' and it always depends on the context. I'll try to explain the most common examples... 1) It can refer to the actual process of going down, literally. "I'm going down into this hole" or "I'm going down the hill." 2) It can refer to going somewhere. "I'm going down to the store." 3)It can mean someone is being defeated in some way or other. "You are going down" (threatening almost) or "the boxer went down" (meaning he fell down/or was defeated). 4) Also in slang terms, it could mean something is going to happen. "The party is about to go down!" 5) In sexual references (relatively vulgar depending who you ask), it means to perform oral sex. I don't think I need to give an example haha. 6) Similar to number 1, it could mean to decrease in value. "Stock prices are going down." 7) It can mean being accepted, remembered, or recorded in a way. "You are going down in history as a famous inventor" I am sure there are more examples, but these are probably the most common and also the ones I came up with. I hope this helps, but remember, the phrase ALWAYS depends on the context
