Dr.Boullé
en tout cas I keep hearing 'en tout cas' while watching French television shows. It says in my dictionary that it means 'in any case' but I don't think this is an adequate translation. It seems to be used quite a lot and in different contexts. Can someone give me examples how one would use this word? Also could you explain its meaning? Thanks, Boullé M.D.

Yes, "en tout cas" is widely used in our conversations. Note that the regular form is in the singular, but you will see it quite commonly written in the plural "en tous cas" (= en tous les cas).

It can also mean "whatever" if it's how the sentence ends.

Sometimes "anyway" would be a more adequate translation depending on the context.
