The underlying meaning of radical #66 攵 tap/rap
Hello!
Many times, the radicals used in Chinese words tend to make sense; the definition of the word is often somehow related to the radical, that facilitates the memorization of those characters.
However, the radical 66 攵 , meaning to rap or tap, has been confusing me because I don't know what sense it we are supposed to infer from it.
I found that it is often related to an action done with the hands, like 收(to receive, to accept, to put away...), 攻 (to attack), 教 (to teach, instruct (with movement from the hands, like showing something on the board)...
What do you think?
Thanks!
