Preposition for "ceiling": on, in, at or under?
If I want to show the position of the lights, is the preposition "on" correct or should I use other preposition such as "in, at or under"?
"There are two lights on the ceiling."
Thank you very much!!!
It depends on the sort of lights. If they are recessed cans, they would be in the ceiling. If they are pendants, then they would be hanging from the ceiling, or technically you could say their light sources were under the ceiling.

Don't worry about technicalities. "On" is correct.
