emparedado y bocadillo ¿cuál es la diferencia entre emparedado y bocadillo?Both seem mean 'sandwich' in English.

In general, both of them mean sandwich, but "bocadillo" is used in Spain and "emparedado" in Latin America. If you use them in another way, the meaning could change (bocadillo in Latin America could mean snack, as it is said above) or people won't even understand you.

En España, la palabra "emparedado" sólo es conocida en el sentido de "sandwich" cuando hace ya muchos años ciertas series de televisión estadounidenses llegaban con doblaje al español de origen habitualmente mejicano o "latino". Si que se usan en cambio, otras acepciones de la palabra emparedado cuando se refiere al hecho de quedar real o figuradamente entre dos paredes, aunque en cualquier caso no es muy habitual el escucharla.

in spain yes is like sandwich. In latin america bocadillo is like the little snack that are in the fancy parties. like a biskit with paté or salmon things like that, the word emparedado en México we didn´t used is like a old old word for a sandwich. we use sandwich or torta. torta is any sandwich with a bread roll and sandwich is made it with the bread you can by in the groceries like wonder or that things. i hope this help you

Emparedado es el sándwich, generalmente de jamón y queso. Bocadillo es el nombre más general para "snack".
