What is the difference between MEET and MEET UP ? So I have this sentence: "I wish I could see my friends more often, but it's hard to find a time when we can all meet up" .... Am I saying something different if I only use the verb MEET at the end of the sentence.

There are situations where they mean different things but this isn't one of them. Using 'meet up' instead of 'meet' adds a sense of completeness to the action, and yes, it does sound a bit more colloquial. 'Meet up' is the more natural verb choice here.

No, using only meet would still infer the same meaning. However "Meet up" is more slang/casual than just saying "meet".
