"The masculine and neuter genders have the 'ом/ем' ending for the prepositional case." Can you please translate this sentence? When I translated, I did вот так: "В мужсом и среднем роде, всегда иметь на окончанию 'ом/ем.'" lol

Hi Troy! This is refers to Instrumental Case where the nouns answer such questions as Кем? Чем? *Мужской и средний род имеют окончание ОМ/ЕМ* The instrumental case is formed from the nominative singular nouns with the help of the following endings: masculine -ОМ(-ЕМ)(- ЁМ) and neuter -ОМ(-ЕМ)(- ЁМ). Add -ОМ to masculine nouns ending in a consonant (брат/brother) and neuter nouns ending in -o (окно/window). Add -ЕМ to masculine nouns ending in -й, -ь (чай/tea, учитель/teacher) and neuter nouns ending in -е (море/sea, орудие/tool). The instrumental case is widely used to describe one's job. For instance, Я работаю учителЕМ (I work as a teacher). Отец был писателЕМ (The father was a writer). It is also used in space and time phrases. For example: ехать полЕМ (to go through the field), проснуться утрОМ (to wake up in the morning), вернуться летОМ (to come back in summer). The instrumental case is used in the sentences like "Я пользуюсь... машиной, домом, электричеством" (I make use of ... a car, house, electricity). For example, Я восхищаюсь его талантОМ. I am admired by his talent. The instrumental case can be used after such prepositions as за (behind), между (between), над (over), перед (in front of), под (under), c (with). For example: за домОМ (behind the house), над столОМ (over the table), перед окнОМ (in front of the window), под небОМ (under the sky), с учителЕМ (with the teacher).
