These are all slightly different. Here are some examples. Kidding is when you get someone to believe something, and then you reveal that it's not true. It's a slightly underhanded way to be aggressive, and then pretend that you weren't being aggressive. Example: You call a radio station for a content and they say “congratulations you are the 100th caller, you just won a thousand dollars!” and you say “wow! really?” and they say “no, just kidding!” Joking is a more general term for saying something absurd or untrue or funny. When you’re joking, you often say things that other people know aren’t true, but they are funny anyway. This is different than kidding where you say something that you hope the listener believes. If your spouse says “do you want to take out the trash?” and you say “I’d LOVE to! I dream of getting to take out the trash! Oh, may I?” you are obviously not excited about this chore, and you don’t think your spouse thinks you are when you say it. Teasing is frequently mean-spirited. A child might tease a classmate by pulling her pigtails. Or a brother might tease his sister repeating everything the she says right after she says it in order to make her mad. It’s “pushing someone’s buttons” meaning it is doing things that make someone upset, usually for the pleasure of watching the other person get frustrated. (Teasing can also have a sexual connotation. If an adult makes comments that can be considered sexually inviting, and then are not open to the sexual advances, they are called a tease.)
