The meaning of "even to this day." In what situations do you usually use this phrase? Is it the same meaning as "even now?"

Yes they are very similar we can say.... "Even to this day I still can't eat rice, since I saw a worm in my rice 10 years ago". "Even now I still can't eat rice, since I saw a worm in my rice 10 years ago"

Yes, it's very similar. 'to this day' would usually be used to refer to things that started to happen, or were well known, a very long time ago - I would say at least decades, but more likely centuries ago.
