get in contact - something you will do: "I will get in contact with her tomorrow." (If we are doing it now, it's more common to say, "I am contacting her now" rather than "I am getting in contact with her now.") be in touch (OR stay in touch) - to remain in contact. "I am in touch with him." (I have his contact information. I know how to reach him.) "Let's be in touch." (Let's check back with each other soon.) "Let's stay in touch after you move to Australia." (Please, let's continue to contact each other {by email, phone, etc.} after you move.)

To get in contact with someone and to get in touch with someone mean almost the same thing. They both mean an intention to initiate some form of communication with some other party. Some ideas I can think of: -If the other party is a group rather than an individual, I would use 'contact.' I would probably not use 'get in touch with' for a group. -'Get in touch with' feels like it suggests a continued connection with the other party, whereas 'get in contact with' feels like it emphasizes one particular moment of interaction. These aren't hard rules though; I could probably use either with a group, or either with continuous interaction.
