detrás vs. atrás Hi, I feel like this should be a beginner's question but I just thought of this right now and realized I never had a clear understanding of these words. What do these two words (detrás vs. atrás) mean and how are they used differently? :) ¡Gracias!

In Spanish we use "detrás" to express position or that an object or someone is behind something, for example, the ball is behind the girl. While "atrás" is used to indicate something related with time, is a sinonym for "ago". You can use it for example, that was a long time ago--》 Eso fue mucho tiempo atrás 《-- translation.

Años atrás no existía internet. https://www.diccionariodedudas.com/atras-o-detras/

In that case we use "detrás", an additional comment for you is, when we use "atrás" we use it without "de" before the word. Also , it is correct if you say "parqueadero" but we say "parqueo" a 99% of the time. Hope it helps!
