They mean almost the same thing and in most cases can be used interchangeably. They are also synonymous with 'most of the time'. Generally I go shopping at the mall. Usually I go shopping at the mall. Tigers don't eat people, usually. Tigers don't eat people, generally. I usually lose at games. I generally lose at games

google "what is the difference between usually and generally?" https://wikidiff.com/generally/usually https://www.italki.com/question/275482 [excerpt] In summary, "usually" describes the "usual" situation. It describes what happens "most of the time". The exception is an unusual occurrence or condition. "Generally" describes the most common case. It describes what is true with most cases. The exception is an unusual case. As you can see, there is not a lot of difference between the meanings and the words can often be used interchangeably in many contexts.

They can have similar meaning. Usually applies to time in sense of repetition. I usually struggle with math. It means it is quite often that this happens. Generally doesn't necessarily apply to time; it can be something that happens on long periods of times. I generally prefer white over red wine. I may drink it twice a year but that's what I generally prefer. Saying that I usually prefer white wine would imply that there is significant frequency of me drinking wine in more stable and shorter period of time. Usually implies to habbit. General implies to long term judgement call. I usually don't drink but I generally prefer white wine over red one. You can't really make it other way around though: I generally don't drink but I usually prefer white wine over red one. Hope that helps!
