This, That, These, Those (acest, acel, acești, acele) There are many ways to say this, that, these, and those in Romanian, at least from an American / Mexican perspective. I'm not sure I have them all right. Can you help fill in the gaps or correct the ones I didn't get right? This (m) acest acesta ăsta This (f) această ? asta These (m pl) acești aceștia ăștia These (f/n pl) aceste acestea astea That (m) acel acela ăla That (f) aceea ? ? Those (f/n pl.) acele acelea alea Also, do I understand correctly that the first form of the three described in each grouping should only be used before the thing they're describing? (as in "acest băiat"), and that the other two forms can be used only after the thing they're describing, as in "băiatul acesta" or "băiatul ăsta" ... and that in that case you're stressing the fact that THIS is the boy you're talking about? As in "I'm not talking about him, I'm talking about THIS boy." ... "Nu-i vorba de el, vorbesc despre băiatul acesta / ăsta.". Thanks in advance!

This (m) acest acesta ăsta This (f) această aceasta asta These (m pl) acești aceștia ăștia These (f/n pl) aceste acestea astea That (m) acel acela ăla That (f) aceea acea aia Those (f/n pl.) acele acelea alea Yes, you are absolutely correct, acest băiat/ băiatul acesta. You also can use “acesta” to (or aceasta, acestia, etc) alone, meaning “this one” (or these), but never use “acest” alone, as it is an adjective and must be followed by a noun. Great job, keep it up!
