This is a common challenge where 2 words said together don't exactly "roll off the tongue". For example to say "make" and then "sense" to go from the "k" sound to the "s" sound you almost have to put an "a" in between. Native speakers don't actually pronounce the "k" fully and instead adopt what is known as a "glottal stop". Once you see one glottal stop you will start to see hundreds of them. To "make sense" means to have an understandable meaning. If not, then for example. "This sentence doesn't make sense."
