when I finished answering the phone,in order to express my appreciate, what should I say? "I am glad to receive your call"or "It's my pleasure to answer your call"?which verb is correct?any other expression?
WHEN I FINISH SPEAKING (not answering) or
WHEN I HAVE FINISHED SPEAKING WITH SOMEONE ON THE PHONE,
IN ORDER TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION (noun), what should I say? ["appreciate" is the verb]
We use the word "answer" only to mean "accepting the phone call" and that is when we say "hello".
After answering the call we then have a conversation or speak on the phone.
First, I would say "Thank you for your call."
Then I would say what Eliot and Seraphicstar have already suggested:
I was happy to receive your call, or
It was nice hearing from you, or
It was a pleasure hearing from you, or
It was nice talking to you, or
I appreciate your call.
