what's the difference between "despite of " and "irrespective of "?

Actually, the correct form is "despite." Irrespective is just another, more bookish way of saying the same thing. Despite the rain, we played tennis for an hour. Irrespective of the rain, we played tennis for an hour. I don't recommend using irrespective. Despite works in all cases and is always good English.
