I think one is more like "adventure" type of risk. The other is more "personal danger" type of risk. What should you say when you talk about investments? "That's a risky investment". "Or I'm afraid of taking risks".

2.冒险：It is both verb and noun in Chinese.It means do something in spite of jeopardy.
