Hello! I'm Javier, and I take pride in being your guide on the exciting journey of learning Spanish. Hailing from Venezuela and with 35 years of experience in this beautiful world, I'm a friendly and patient individual. My passions range from playing the bass guitar to meditation, reading, and, of course, spending time with my family and friends. With a solid background in Journalism and Education, I've developed a variety of Spanish teaching methods designed for people of all levels. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I've had the honor of helping more than 2500 students from different countries, backgrounds, levels of proficiency, and ages. My approach is personalized, always adapting lessons to your interests and goals. Our lessons can be entirely in Spanish or in a mix of Spanish and English, especially if you're starting from scratch. The crucial thing is that by the end of each lesson, you acquire new knowledge and vocabulary to practice. In our first lesson, I will assess your level of Spanish, and together, we will design a work plan tailored to your needs, goals, and interests. Javier is an amazing asset! Whether you are learning a new language, or improving on your existing skills, he tailors each lesson to your specific needs. His positivity is infectious - you can instantly tell he has a lot of joy, and he brings fun and laughter to every lesson. You can sense that he sincerely enjoys helping people and gets excited seeing them put the puzzle pieces of language learning together with his help. He is on time for his lessons, very communicative, has both great English as well as Spanish, and a good internet connection (which is important when trying to hear the nuances in a spoken language!). Javier is definitely a diamond on the italki team!

Javier started our first lesson in English to make sure I was comfortable and then switched to Spanish. He was good about adjusting his word choice and speed to a level that I could understand (and still be a bit challenged by!). I'm looking forward to more lessons with Javier!

Great first lesson. I have minimal knowledge of Spanish so starting out Javier was gauging where I am at, speaking in mostly English at first for the sake of efficiency and then checking pronunciation.
Plan for next lessons made and some homework. I’m looking forward to continuing.
