Hi! My name is Mera, and I am a native English speaker from New York, USA. With over 11 years of experience teaching English both in-person and online, I have worked with diverse learners to enhance their English skills. After relocating to Southeast Asia, I was offered a position as an ESL teacher at an international school in Bali. Over the years, I have developed effective language-learning strategies designed to help students become confident and proficient English speakers. I have experience teaching English at a school in Bali before transitioning to online teaching in March 2022. Specializing in IELTS and TOEFL exam preparation, group discussions, and conversation lessons, I provide structured guidance and encouragement to help my students express themselves clearly and naturally. I help my students replace basic or repetitive vocabulary with more sophisticated expressions commonly used by native English speakers, particularly in American English. I incorporate a variety of resources in my lessons, including websites that offer conversation topics, vocabulary lists, and discussion questions to provide my students with many opportunities for speaking practice.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
In the lesson, I'll ask you a range of questions about yourself including your goals for learning English and your current and target language levels. This will also be an opportunity for you to share any difficulties you're experiencing in learning English, which will help me create a customized teaching plan to support your progress. Additionally, I'll invite you to share your opinions on a topic of your choice. Throughout the lesson, I'll provide corrections and suggestions regarding your vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, which I will type in the italki chat. I had several dozen lessons with Mera. Mera is a very active teacher. She is prepared for every lesson. She is open to new ideas and encourages students to choose new conversation topics. But if students can't think of an idea, don’t worry, Mera always provides high-quality materials for many different topics. Mera's style is focused on natural talking because language is essentially talking. It's one way to check my words. Get cracking!

I’ve been learning English with Mera for a while. Mera is patient, enthusiastic, and highly experienced in teaching English. She corrects my pronunciation and sentences, and explains grammar in a clear and simple way. My speaking skills have improved significantly. I feel much more confident when I speak English.

Another amazing lesson with Mera. Mera's approach to teaching is incredible - she listens to you very carefully, corrects you and suggests the best alternatives how to say this or that. And Mera always writes it down so that you can look at it later, it helps a lot. Her lessons are fun, comfortable and you can definetely learn a lot of new things.
