Hello, everyone! I am a TEFL certified teacher. I was born and grew up in Yorkshire, England but lived in north and south Spain for two years where I taught English and learned to speak Spanish. I have a degree in English literature and worked for several years as a journalist before becoming an English teacher. As well as teaching English I work for a homeless charity where I teach young people how to cook and try help them begin education or training. In my free time I love doing lots of activities including cooking, art, travelling and sports including cycling, running, climbing, outdoor swimming and walking.

I have experience teaching a wide range of abilities from beginners to proficient speakers. I have experience of helping my students pass Cambridge FCE exams and helping students study for IELTS. As a current language student (Spanish) myself, I understand what it´s like to try learn and improve one´s skills in a foreign language, including the struggles. As a result, I strive to be a caring, passionate, kind and patient teacher who provides classes that are personalized to meet each student´s needs, wants and aims. Thanks to my Spanish speaking ability I am able to provide extra support to my Spanish students by communicating in both languages during our classes if needed.

I am a friendly and patient teacher who can offer you classes that suit your needs and wants. In general English classes we will focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking. We will learn through varied activities including worksheets, articles, videos, visual aids and role plays. In conversation classes we will talk using games, media and debates to push your speaking abilities. We can also focus on business English or preparing for an exam.. I will create you an online document so you can revise what we learn in class and see your progress. We will correct errors made during class and revisit topics to boost your confidence. I can also set homework to help you revise topics.
