I am truly grateful to have an exceptional English teacher like Sophie. Sophie's teaching approach is not only effective but also inspiring. Her passion for the English language is evident in every lesson, and she goes the extra mile to ensure that her students grasp the intricacies of the subject. Sophie creates a warm and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom, fostering a sense of community and encouraging open communication. What sets Sophie apart is her personalized approach to feedback and guidance, tailoring her teaching to meet the needs of each student. Under Sophie's tutelage, I have not only improved my language skills but have also developed a genuine appreciation for literature and expression. Her dedication to her students and the subject itself makes Sophie an outstanding educator, and I feel fortunate to be part of her English class.

Studying literature with Sophie is such an absolutely fantastic experience for me. She treats me as if I were an intellectual being, asking critical questions about the text and encouraging me to think deeply beyond what is written. Thought-provoking indeed! I have always loved to read and took some literature courses at uni but did not do well. Never have I met such a remarkable teacher who pays close attention to pushing me as far as I can go like her before. Highly recommended! And don’t forget to read the text before class to get the most out of the discussion!

Taking lessons with Sophie has been one of the personal highlights of the year for me. Over the span of just 6-7 months, we read and discussed 4 lengthy novels as well as several short stories by American and British authors. I appreciate that Sophie always provides the historical context behind each book, which is essential for understanding the events and societal developments that may have influenced the author. She also gently pushes me to think critically about the ideas in the books by posing challenging questions. I feel like I am no longer gobbling up books) Instead, I work on developing a set of techniques to analyze literature as I go through texts. Thank you, Sophie, it is a privilege to learn from you and with you!

Sophie has been my English teacher for more than 2 years. I have taken 170 lessons with her. I started taking the lesson after I moved to the United States for a job. She is professional and friendly. I have been able to practice my English, particularly speaking. She makes the lessons enjoyable, and balances correcting your mistakes with letting you speak, so that you develop confidence over time and become more fluent. What makes her lessons unique and invaluable is that they go beyond the English language. Her lessons are designed to discuss current affairs topics, usually by reading articles from newspapers. She empowers you by asking open ended questions and listens very respectfully, creating a safe place so you can give your opinion and develop your critical thinking and debating skills. She is empathetic, as she is very smart and has the patience to encourage her students to get the most out of them. I have developed skills that I grew my entire life thinking I would never get.

Literature lessons are great! She has helped me understand text that I wasn’t able to do before. She makes lessons engaging and is great to practice both reading and speaking.

Sophie has helped me improve my English and has given me confidence in my speaking, formulating arguments and giving my opinion. That has helped me both in my personal life and professionally. I'm really thankful with her!
